Reasons why you are not losing weight
Most of the reasons why you are not losing weight is only embedded in your mindset and how much you really want your desired weight.
Though Weightloss comes easily and rapid to some, even within two weeks but for others it takes months and sometimes years.
1. You’re struggling with cutting back on carbs.
If you’re on a low carbs diet and you’re still eating carbs like its chrismas or easter,
you’re the obstacle to your own weight loss.
Those with metabolic problems such as type 2 diabetes or people who have a lot of weight to lose should really consider the low carb diet.
If you stick closely to your low carb diet, you stand a chance to lose about 2-3 times more weight .
2. You don’t sleep well enough
Its very obvious, you know not getting enough sleep, this is bad, we both know and alot of people must have told you already.
Sleep plays a major role in maintaining a good physical and mental health.
You’re know you’re not getting anythung close to 7hrs of sleep, and the reason may differ.
Some people stay up chatting on social media and gramming, others close really late from work while others Its just the kids.
Getting good sound sleep really matters,
whatever you escuse might try to plan your day well you don’t slack up on sleep Atleast aim sleep for about 8-9 hrs daily.
3. Damn you’re the binge master
This can be a major problem for dieters, like for real ! one single binge can ruin one weeks worth of diet.
When you binge, you’re eating alot of food so fast that you can cause a quick spike in your blood sugar and this doesn’t die off or regain its normally position immediately.
Did you know you can binge on healthy food?
Though some people still binge on junk foods and they are asking reasons why you are not losing weight.
It doesn’t matter if its junk or healthy, a binge is a binge.
Calories don’t dispute, binge on healthy foods is the same as binge on junk.
4. you’re eating too many calories and youre not tracking your meals
Another reason why you are not losing weight is because you’re eating too many calories and you’re not tracking your meals.
You rely too much on your eyes and mind to calculate the amount of calories and those two can really underestimate the amount of calories you consume.
To lose weight you should try weighing your foods or usung a calorie counter.
You’re not tracking your meals and you’re probably eating too much, chances are, you don’t even know what you ate yesterday or how many times you ate.
It would be wise if you take pictures or keep a journal of your food to help you lose weight.
5. You know protein is good but you would rather not eat enough.
You know protein is good to help you lose weight but No No…you won’t eat it more than once.
Hey let me make it clear to you, You need protein! Repeat after me …I need protein. Protein is one of the nutrients you should never avoid when trying to lose weight.
So why do you avoid protein?
You love the feeling you get when you snack and you don’t want to miss that feeling.
This is because, you know after you eat protein, you would be too full to eat anything else.
But you really want to eat even though you’re already full Hey that’s bad it’s not good for your health.
If at all, try to make your breakfast really proteinous and filling,
by so doing you will be able to cut cravings and avoid the snacky feeling.
6. You still load up on sugar and you don’t drink enough water.
Reasons why you are not losing weight? For real, you’re asking.
when was the last time you drank a litre of water? obvious you definitely can’t remember or haven’t done it before.
You’ve replaced the bottle of water with soda or margarita, because you think water is boring.
Even the so called “healthy fruit juices” can be an issue if you consume them too much.
Sugar is not like protein, its a very corny food that still allows you to eat more, no matter the amount of it you consume.
Sugar will help stack up on calories, STOP TAKING SUGAR! Hey Drink water its good for you, and you don’t have to be thirsty before you drink water.
Water can really help you reduce the number of calories you consume drastically and you can lose weight exponentially.
Try to take a glass of water when you wake up another glass before and after each meal, then take another glass before you sleep.
Doing this will do a whole lot of good to your weightloss and health in general.
7. You ignored cardio exercise!
One of the reasons often over looked to why you are not losing weight is the cardio.
Yeah I’ve always said exercise carefully and the only time i said never to exercise is if you weight over 200lbs.
Aerobic exercises that make your heart beat faster are really good for your health, especially at losing belly fat.
Some exercises you should do now to revive your weight loss include
- Skip a rope
Not doing any cardio at all can be the reason why you’re stuck at a weight loss plateau.
8. Maybe its a medical condition.
There are some medical conditions that hinder weightloss and some medications can also hinder you from losing weight.
You should check in with your doctor to be sure you don’t have medical conditions including
- Sleep apnea
- PCOS(polycystic ovarian syndrome)
These medical conditions can be one of the reasons why you’re not losing weight.
9. You dont eat mindfully.
What do I mean by mindful eating?
How do I eat mindfully?
You know those adverts about food where the person eating is so focused on his food and is trying so much to savour and enjoy every bite, and making those funny uhmm sounds to show how delicious the food is.
when eating mindfully, try to savour every bite by slowly chewing and enjoying the meal.
Eat your food like you’re going to describe the taste, smell, flavor, aroma and texture to someone.
Eat without distractions. You’ll notice that you be able to know when you’re full and would be easy for you to stop eating.
Remember to always drink water before and after meals.
There are lot of studies that prove that if you eat this way you can lose weight easily and also reduce snacking and cravings.
10. You’re probably losing weight, its just that you have really high expectations.
You might be in a weightloss plateau already or you just feel you’re are not losing weight.
Remember what you’re trying to lose is the fat and not you. You can just switch up one morning after a week of diet and exercise, hoping to look like a model.
Thats a dream, not that its impossible for you to go from fat to fit, but you have to accept the fact that weight loss takes time.
Though you might have had a really good start by losing about 20lbs in your first 3 weeks of diet and exercise.
But you have to know the body is a manager and it tends to learn to accept new lifestyles as you change thereby reducing the pound you shed to about 2-3 pounds a week or even less.
Most times you’re actually losing weight but the scale doesn’t budge because most of the fat has been burnt and you’ve gained some lean muscles from exercises instead.
Only if after 3 weeks and you still haven’t noticed any budge or drift on the scale and you have been following you diet and exercise properly before you conclude you’ve come to a weight loss plateau.
